Wheel arch trims
The plastic wheel arch trims are secured with a combination of self-tapping screws, plastic nuts and clips. Their removal and installation is carried out taking into account the following.
Some of the clips may have a pin that is knocked out when the clip is removed.
Clips are easily damaged when removed, so we recommend having a few spares.
Engine mudguard (on models with engines with two camshafts)
Engage the handbrake, then jack up the front end and secure it to stands under the bridge.
Loosen the two screws and remove the oil filter access panel.
Remove the self-tapping mudguard bolts at the bottom of the body (pic. 11.36.).
Together with an assistant, remove the mudguard from the vehicle.
The mudguard is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Rear Spoiler - Saloon Models
Open the trunk lid, unscrew the screws and remove the lock assembly cover.
Remove the three bolts and eight nuts securing the spoiler (flap) on the trunk roof, then remove it.
On some models, the flap may be secured with adhesive tape, in which case care must be taken not to damage the painted surfaces while removing it. One possible solution is to heat the tape with a hair dryer.
Remove the flap from the trunk lid.
Using mineral spirits, remove all traces of adhesive, then wash the surface with soapy water to remove the mineral spirits.
Install the spoiler, checking for proper installation. and secure with nuts and bolts.
Install the lock assembly cover.
Side pads
Apply adhesive tape around the edge of the overlay before removing it to ensure that the overlay is properly positioned when reinstalled.
Use a hair dryer to heat the trim to soften the adhesive to remove it.
Before installing the overlay, remove all traces of adhesive with white spirit. Then remove all traces of white spirit with soapy water. All work surfaces must be absolutely clean.
Heat up the new pad with a hair dryer to approximately 80°C, then remove the protective film from it. Press down on the pad so that it is in place, aligning with the previously pasted adhesive tape. Remove the adhesive tape after attaching the pad.
Various stickers are attached with adhesives. To remove them, either soften the adhesive with a hair dryer, taking care not to damage the painted surface, or separate the overlay with nylon thread, as if "sawing down" their.
