Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Set the front wheels straight ahead and do not move them until the steering wheel is installed.
Remove the horn push button from the center of the steering wheel and disconnect the wire.
Use a screwdriver to pry back the tabs on the lock washer at the steering wheel lock nut.
Loosen and remove the steering wheel lock nut and washer.
Mark the steering wheel and steering column shaft.
Now you need to install a suitable small two-legged puller on the steering wheel to remove it from the steering column shaft. Keep in mind that the steering wheel is very firmly fixed to the cotton.
Start installing the steering wheel by lightly tapping it to fit it onto the steering column shaft using a metal tube and make sure that the marks made before removal match. Before fully seating the steering wheel, check the alignment as indicated in the next section.
Install the lock washer and steering wheel lock nut and tighten to specification. Bend the tabs on the lock washer to secure the nut.
Install the horn push button, making sure the wire connection is secure, and connect the negative battery terminal.
