In the engine compartment, unscrew the clamping sleeve and disconnect the speedometer flexible shaft from the gearbox/transmission assembly.
Remove the steering column cover (see chapter 10).
If required, remove the screw caps, then remove the four screws (two upper and two lower) and remove the dashboard trim.
Remove three screws (one top and two bottom) instrument panel fasteners and carefully pull the instrument panel towards you (pic. 12.21).
Push down on the fastening clip of the speedometer flexible shaft and release it (pic. 12.22).
Release the clamping rings and disconnect the plug connectors from the back of the dashboard (pic. 12.23).
Remove the dashboard.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal, but make sure that the speedometer flexible shaft is not twisted or stuck between the instrument panel and the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
