Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and lay it aside.
2. Remove the dashboard (see chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
3. Remove the side nuts securing the pedal support bracket to the steering cross member.
4. In the passenger compartment, remove the mounting screws and remove the side trim panels of the driver's footwell.
5. Release rotary clamps and remove the left bottom section of finishing of the panel of devices. Remove the air supply hose to the driver's footwell. Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake light switch, rotate the switch and release it from the pedal bracket.
6. Give fixing nuts and remove an accelerator pedal from the panel of a floor.
7. Disconnect the wiring harness from the fuse box holder.
8. Unhook the return spring.
9. Prying with a screwdriver, remove the retainer and remove the pin of attachment to the pedal of the split finger of the vacuum booster servo rod. Remove the puck.
10. Give the nuts securing the vacuum booster to the pedal bracket and remove the bracket assembly with the pedal - the working space is very limited. First, separate the bracket from the steering crossbar posts, then bend it up and remove it with a turn - try not to damage the electrical wiring and components located in the immediate vicinity. If necessary, remove the intermediate shaft of the steering column (see chapter Suspension and steering).
11. Having remembered installation of a pedal Give a fixing nut and remove an axis of a pedal, - try to remember an adjusting position of components. Remove the pedal, bushings and return spring from the bracket.
12. Check pedal assembly components for signs of wear and mechanical damage. Pay special attention to the condition of the axle bushings. Replace defective components.
Installation
1. Lubricate the friction and bearing surfaces of the assembly components with multipurpose grease. Install the pedal on the bracket, screw the fixing nuts and tighten them with the required force.
2. Carefully place the pedal assembly in its regular place and place it on the bulkhead of the engine compartment, making sure that the holes in the bracket are correctly aligned with the brake booster servo studs. Screw on the fixing nuts and tighten them to the required torque. If removed, reinstall the intermediate steering column shaft (see chapter Suspension and steering).
3. Connect to a pedal a pusher of the vacuum amplifier and fix it with a pin and a clamp.
4. Connect the pedal return spring.
5. Attach the wiring harness to the base of the fuse box.
6. Connect electroconducting to an accelerator pedal, establish a pedal and tighten fixing nuts.
7. Before installing the sensor-switch of stoplights on the bracket, completely drown its plunger. Fill the sensor-switch in its regular place and, turning, fix it in the bracket. Connect electrical wiring. Depress a pedal and pull out a plunger of the gauge-switch. After releasing the pedal, the plunger will take up its working position.
8. Install the air supply hose to the driver's footwell and the lower section of the instrument panel trim.
9. Install the driver's footwell trim side panels.
10. Screw and tighten the side nuts securing the pedal bracket to the steering cross member.
11. Install the instrument panel (see chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
12. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
13. Check up serviceability of functioning of a pedal and the gauge switch of stoplights.
