Cylinder head cover — removal and installation

Engines 1.4 and 1.6 liters

1. The procedure for removing the cylinder head cover is illustrated in the photo.







2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Thoroughly clean the inside surface of the lid from tar deposits. Lay the gasket in the groove on the cover, making sure its position is correct along the entire length (see photo). Insert the bolt seals, securing them with grease (see photo). Lubricate the surfaces of the rear covers of the camshaft bearing journals and semi-circular plugs with sealant.

1.8L engine

3. Remove the motor cover by removing the pins.

4. Release the clamps and disconnect the hoses of the crankcase ventilation system (see photo). Remove the ignition module (Chapter 5B).



5. Disconnect the temperature sensor wire and hose from the thermostat housing from the cover, then unscrew the bolts and remove the bracket for the cooling system pipe, move the pipe to the side (see photo).




6. Turn away bolts and remove a cover, get a sealant.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Thoroughly clean the inside surface of the lid from tar deposits. Lay the gasket in the groove on the cover, making sure its position is correct along the entire length (see photo). Install the o-rings in place. Connect to the thermostat and secure the cooling system pipe (see photo). Restore the fluid level in the cooling system.

Engine 2.0L

8. Remove the air filter housing (Chapter 4A).


9. Remove the upper belt cover.

10. Disconnect the hoses from the cover (see photo).



11. Turn away screws and remove the casing covering spark plugs, disconnect wires from candles.

12. Turn away bolts and remove a cover, get sealants and plugs.

13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Thoroughly clean the inside surface of the lid from tar deposits. Lay the gasket in the groove on the cover, making sure its position is correct along the entire length. Insert the bolt seals, securing them with grease (see photo). Lubricate the surfaces of the rear covers of the camshaft bearing journals and semi-circular plugs with sealant.
