General information and precautions
Attention: When leaving the car, do not forget to remove the ignition key, set the parking brake, close all windows and lock the doors! It is reasonable to lock the doors also while driving in order to prevent their accidental opening, as well as in order to prevent intruders from entering the car (e.g. at traffic lights). When transporting children in the back seat, turn on the additional lock for unlocking the doors from the passenger compartment!
Attention: In order to avoid penetration of engine exhaust gases into the car interior, before driving, check the tightness of the tailgate closing!
All models covered in this manual are equipped as standard with a single remote-controlled lock that allows you to simultaneously lock or unlock all vehicle doors (see Section 8).
Unlocking and locking doors with the remote control
See Section 8 (for all key versions).
Unlocking and locking doors from the outside with a key
On models with a mechanical key, the driver's door lock of the vehicle is equipped with a cylinder that allows the door to be unlocked and locked from the outside using the key. The driver's door is unlocked by turning the key counterclockwise in the lock cylinder. Opening the driver's door will automatically unlock the other (including tailgate).
To lock, make sure that all doors are tightly closed and turn the key in the lock clockwise.
Locking doors from the outside without a key/remote control
To lock the car from the outside, activate the single lock from the main switch button through the front passenger door (see Section 8), then get out of the car and slam the door. Note: When the driver's door is open, the single lock will not activate.
See Section 8 for more information on the single lock.
Unlocking and locking the doors from the inside
Locking the doors from the inside is possible only from the main switch of a single lock (see Section 8) - The driver's door must be tightly closed.
Unlocking and locking doors using the single lock master switch
On eligible models, the single lock master switch is located on the console section of the instrument panel, to the right above the center air duct deflector (see illustration 3.1).
For more information about the single lock system, see Section 8.
Additional blocking of locks of rear doors
Attention: Use the rear door lock in all cases when there are children in the rear seats! Inform passengers accordingly!
A special additional lock serves to prevent the possibility of accidental opening of the rear doors from the passenger compartment, which is especially important when young children are in the car.
The lock is activated by turning a special cylinder mounted in the rear end wall of the door assembly (the groove of the cylinder must be horizontal) - use a special universal tool, fixed in a clip on the inside of the fuel filler cap, or any other suitable tool (wrench, flat-bladed screwdriver, etc.) (see illustration 3.2). To release the lock, move the cylinder to its previous position.
Unlocking and locking the tailgate lock
Unlocking / locking the tailgate lock is performed by one of the regular methods of activating a single lock (see Section 8).
To open the door, pull it towards you, after pressing the button under the grip bar (see illustration 3.3), and raise. In the upper position, the door is held by special gas-filled racks.
Attention: Mounting additional equipment on the tailgate increases its mass - the door may not be held in the open position!
To close the trunk, there is a handle on the inside of the tailgate. The lock engages automatically when the door is slammed (see illustration 3.4).
