Power take-off socket

The power take-off socket is designed to connect additional electricity consumers, designed for a supply voltage of 12 V and a power consumption of not more than 120 W. The cigarette lighter socket can be used as such an outlet (see above). Station wagon models have an additional socket in the luggage compartment (see illustration 17.27), equipped with a protective cover.

Caution: Do not use electrical appliances with incorrect plugs to avoid damage to the socket! The maximum power consumption of additional electrical appliances must not exceed 120 watts! Do not connect electrical devices that produce electricity, such as chargers or batteries! Electrical devices to be connected must comply with DIN VDE 40 839 in terms of electromagnetic compatibility - otherwise the vehicle may malfunction!
