You will need a flat blade screwdriver.
1. Remove the lining of the floor tunnel (see Removal and installation of floor tunnel lining).
2. Prying with a screwdriver..
3.... slide the gear selector cable latch..
4.... and disconnect the cable from the gearshift control lever.
5. Squeeze the lock of the sheath of the gear shift cable with pliers..
6.... and remove the cable from the groove of the bracket of the backstage of the gear lever.
7. Similarly disconnect a cable of a choice of transfers (with white sheath).
8. In the engine compartment, pry off the tip of the gear shift cable with a screwdriver..
9.... and disconnect the tip of the cable from the gear lever, overcoming the elastic resistance of its spring retainer.
10. Pry off the tip of the gear selection cable with a screwdriver..
11.... and disconnect it from the gear lever, overcoming the elastic resistance of the spring retainer.
12. Move back the gear selector cable sheath retainer..
Note. For clarity, it is shown with the battery and its mounting shelf removed.
13.... and remove the stop from the bracket on the gearbox.
14. Similarly disconnect from an arm an emphasis of a cable of a choice of transfers.
15. In the passenger compartment, under the instrument panel, remove the cable seal from the hole in the bulkhead shield and remove the cables into the passenger compartment.
16. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
17. Adjust the gearbox control drive (see Gearbox control drive adjustment).
