Release until 08.1997 - every year, release from 09.1998 - every 2 years.
Before beginning any fuel filter maintenance procedures, thoroughly wipe the area around the fuel filter seat to prevent the risk of dirt entering the fuel system path. To collect spilled fuel, place a rag under the filter, or install a suitable drain container.
Do not allow diesel fuel to come into contact with the surfaces of the generator, starter, cooling system hoses, engine mounts and wiring harnesses!
The fuel filter is installed in the front left corner of the engine compartment, next to the power steering reservoir.
1. Release the drain hose from the holder and point it downwards.
Fuel filter valve (bottom arrow), - in order to facilitate the outflow of fuel, you can loosen the cover screw (top arrow)
2. Place a container under the hose to collect water.
3. Loosen the valve at the bottom of the filter and allow the fuel to drain into the prepared container. Do not close the valve until clean fuel flows out of the hose - usually draining about 100 ml is sufficient.
To ensure more free flow of fuel, loosen the bleed screw screwed into the top of the filter cover.
4. Gently tighten the valve, remove the hose from it and remove the drain container. Use a clean rag to pick up spilled fuel. If necessary, carefully tighten the top screw of the cover.
5. Finally, carefully clean up spilled fuel and check any loosened components for signs of leak development.
6. Start the engine and bleed the fuel system (see chapter Power supply systems, release and reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases).
