16.1. Laying the parking brake cable on models with rear drum brakes: 1. Right / left cable holder on the rear suspension beam; 2, 3, 9. Connecting elements of the cable; 4. Cuff on the drum mechanism; 5. Left rear section; 6. Equalizer; 7. Right rear section; 8. Central section; 10. Front section; 11. Cuff on the bearing sheet of the parking brake lever; 12. Parking brake adjusting nut
2. On models with rear disc brakes, the drive design is almost completely similar, the difference is in the way the cable ends are attached to the calipers (see Section 8).
Front section
3. Remove the parking brake lever (see Section 15).
4. Raise the car and place it on stands.
5. On models with a front thermal screen, disconnect the lambda probe wiring connector, release the central section of the exhaust system from the damping holders (see resist. illustration) and lay the exhaust pipe on the rear suspension beam. Then remove the heat shield from the bottom of the car, lay it on the exhaust pipe.
16.5. Front heat shield (16) - the arrows indicate the damping holders of the exhaust system section
6. Disconnect the front section of the parking brake cable from the connector and release it from the holder on the bottom of the car (see resist. illustration).
16.6. Connecting element (9) and holder (13) front section of the drive cable (10) parking brake
7. Remove the cuff from the carrier plate of the parking brake lever and pull the cable out of the hole in the bottom of the car.
8. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal. At the end of the work, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).
Rear sections
Models with disc brakes
Center and rear left sections
9. Remove the rear wheels, on Corsa-Eco models, remove the crankcase (see chapter 2) and a spoiler from the bottom of the car.
10. On equipped models, separate the front heat shield from the underside of the vehicle (see illustration 16.5).
11. Release the parking brake lever, disconnect the rear section of the cable from the connecting element and release it from the holder on the rear suspension beam (see resist. illustration).
16.11. Rear section fixing (5) parking brake cable (disc mechanisms): 1. Holder; 3. Connecting element
12. Disconnect the center section of the drive cable from the equalizer (see resist. illustration) and release the rear section of the cable from the holders on the fuel tank.
16.12. Central mount (8) and rear left (5) parking brake cable sections (disc mechanisms): 6. Equalizer; 7. Rear right section; 14. Holders
13. Release the central section of the cable from the holder on the bottom of the car and from the front connector (see resist. illustration) and take it off.
16.13. Holder (15) central section (8) drive cable on the bottom of the car (disc mechanisms): 9. Connector
14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. At the end of the installation, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).
Rear right section
15. Remove the rear wheels and release the parking brake lever.
16. Disconnect the rear right section of the cable from the connector (2) and take it out of the holder (1) on the rear suspension beam (see illustration 16.1).
17. Disconnect the rear right section of the parking brake from the equalizer (see illustration 16.12) and take it off.
18. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. At the end of the installation, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).
Models with drum brakes
19. Remove the rear wheels and release the parking brake lever.
20. Remove the brake shoes (see Section 10).
21. Remove the retaining clip and pull the rear section of the cable out of the brake shield (see resist. illustration) and disconnect the rear cable from the connector.
16. 21. Removing the rear section (5) parking brake cable (drum mechanisms): 2. Connecting element; 17. Locking bracket
22. Separate the cable from the second brake in the same way.
23. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. At the end of the installation, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).
Corsa Combo models
24. Remove the rear wheels.
25. Disconnect the front section of the cable from the equalizer on the bottom of the car (see resist. illustration) and release the rear cable sections from the holders.
16.25. Equalizer (2) parking brake cable (Corsa Combo models): 1. Tip of the front section of the cable; 3. Holders; 4. Rear cable sections
26. Release the rear sections of the cable from the holders on the fuel tank.
27. Disconnect the rear sections of the cable to the right and left of the connecting elements and release them from the holders on the rear suspension beam (see resist. illustration). Remove the rear sections.
16.27. Rear section fixing (4) parking brake cable (Corsa Combo models): 5. Connecting element; 6. Holders
28. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - the rear sections must be laid over the elements of the exhaust system. At the end of the installation, adjust the parking brake (see Section 17).
