Attention: When leaving the car, do not forget to remove the ignition key, set the parking brake, close all windows and lock the doors! It is reasonable to lock the doors also while driving in order to prevent their accidental opening, as well as in order to prevent intruders from entering the car (e.g. at traffic lights). When transporting children in the back seat, on models of the corresponding configuration, turn on the additional lock for unlocking the doors from the passenger compartment!
Attention: To avoid the penetration of engine exhaust gases into the vehicle interior, never transport cargo, the dimensions of which do not allow the tailgate to be completely closed.
Caution: When stopping on slopes, be careful when opening/closing the sliding doors (combo models) - their spontaneous displacement under the weight of their own weight may occur!
Note: When the fuel filler cap is open, the right sliding door does not open fully to avoid damage (combo models).
Unlocking and locking doors from the outside with a key
On all models covered in this manual, the driver's door and tailgate locks are equipped with cylinders that allow the corresponding door to be unlocked and locked from the outside with a key.
The driver's door is unlocked by turning the key in the lock cylinder counterclockwise, and the tailgate is unlocked by turning the key clockwise until it stops. On models equipped with a single lock, when the key is turned in the driver's door lock cylinder, all doors are automatically unlocked (including the tailgate, if its blocking has not been activated before (see below)), as well as the fuel tank filler flap, - if equipped, the anti-theft alarm and the double blocking system will be turned off at the same time (see Section 8).
To lock the driver's door, and on models with a single lock, the rest of the doors and the filler cap, turn the key in the driver's door lock cylinder clockwise. If the key is turned in the same direction within 10 seconds without removing the key from the lock cylinder, the anti-theft alarm/double locking system will be activated on models of the corresponding configuration (see Section 8).
For details on unlocking/locking the tailgate, see below.
Note: When unlocking the tailgate with the key, the other doors will not unlock.
Unlocking and locking doors with the remote control
See Section 8.
Unlocking and locking the doors from the inside
The side doors are unlocked/locked from the inside using push-buttons built into the top panels of the door upholstery. The locks are blocked by pushing the button in, - to release the lock, pull the button out of the receiving niche. Pushing/pulling the driver's door button locks/unlocks all doors - the driver's door must be tightly closed.
Note: If the double locking system has been previously activated (see Section 8), unlocking the doors from the inside is not possible.
Additional blocking of the locks of the rear side doors
Attention: Use the rear door lock in all cases when there are children in the rear seats! Inform passengers accordingly!
On models of the corresponding configuration, a special additional lock serves to prevent the possibility of accidental opening of the rear doors from the passenger compartment, which is especially important when young children are in the car.
The lock is activated by turning a special cylinder mounted in the rear end wall of the door assembly (the groove of the cylinder must be horizontal), - use the key, or any other suitable tool (see illustration 3.1). To release the lock, move the cylinder to its previous position - the groove must be located vertically.
3.1. Activation of additional blocking of the rear side door lock
Unlocking and locking the tailgate lock
In the upper position, the tailgate on Hatchback models is held by special gas-filled struts, and there is a handle on the inside of the door for closing.
Attention: Mounting additional equipment on the tailgate increases its mass, - the door may not be held in the open position. The lock is locked automatically when the door is slammed.
On models not equipped with a single lock system, the tailgate is unlocked when the key is turned to the right - the lock groove must be in a horizontal position. The door opens when the lock button is pressed.
To lock it is necessary to slam the door and turn the key counterclockwise - the lock groove must be in a vertical position (see illustration 3.2).
3.2. Locking the tailgate lock on models not equipped with a single lock
On models equipped with a single lock, when the key is removed, the tailgate lock cylinder can be in one of two positions:
The groove of the cylinder is horizontal;
The groove of the cylinder is vertical.
To unlock the door with the key, turn it from the first or second position clockwise until it stops, overcoming the point of resistance (see illustration 3.3). In this position, the key cannot be removed from the lock. The door is opened by pressing the lock cylinder button.
3.3. Unlocking the tailgate lock on models equipped with a single lock using a key
To lock, turn the key counterclockwise to set the slot of the lock cylinder to a horizontal or vertical position.
The tailgate can be unlocked with the key separately from the other doors when the anti-theft system is activated (see Section 8). In this case, interior volume control and vehicle tilt control will be automatically deactivated and reactivated approximately 10 seconds after the tailgate is locked.
In addition, if the groove of the lock cylinder is set to a horizontal position, unlocking / locking the tailgate lock can be performed using one of the regular methods of activating a single lock (see Section 8).
When the lock cylinder is placed in a vertical position, the lock is blocked and can only be unlocked with a key.
Note: If the lock cylinder is moved from vertical to horizontal position after unlocking the single lock, the lock will remain locked.
On Combo models, the tailgate is made in a double-leaf version. The right leaf can be opened by pressing both the outer and inner handles, the left leaf is equipped with an inner handle only. The shutters are fixed when opening them at an angle of 90°. In this case, when closing the flaps, it is necessary to apply a slightly greater force to overcome the resistance of the latch. If necessary, the sash can be opened completely (at an angle of 180°), - for which, from a fixed position, slightly cover the corresponding sash and press the bracket of the corresponding latch with the guide (see illustration 3.4). At the subsequent closing of the shutters, make sure that the latch bracket is installed correctly.
3.4. Squeezing the bracket of the latch of the tailgate sash (combo models)
Attention: Fully open sashes (at an angle of 180°) cover the rear combination lamps - light signals and marker lights are not visible to other road users! Do not allow the doors to open fully at night or in poor visibility conditions.
