Adjustment of a drive of a gear change

1. Move the selector lever out of its forwardmost position («R») in the rearmost («D») and make sure that the alternately selected positions correspond to the indications on the indication display of the selected transmission mode (see chapter «Controls and methods of operation»), - in case of discrepancy between the indications, adjust the selector lever position sensor and the gear change actuator.

2. Set the selector lever to position «R».

3. Find the support bracket for fastening the gear selection cable on top of the transmission housing, release the tip of the latter from it by carefully pulling out the latch (see resist. illustration).



4. Make sure the selector lever is in the «R», without pressing the lever lock release button, try to move it along the guide groove back and forth - the lever should not move.

5. Then, in the engine compartment, turn the actuating lever located on top of the transmission housing forward to the stop, switching AT to the position «R» (see resist. illustration). Snapping the latch (see illustration 2.3), secure the shift cable to the bracket with the selector lever and AT in neutral.




6. Check up serviceability of functioning of the selector, - in case of need repeat adjustment.

7. If, after re-adjustment, the gear shift drive malfunctions, it is necessary to adjust it using special electrical equipment KM-962-A and KM-962-10 - carefully study the instructions for its operation.

8. Using the right tool (for example, KM-6042) disconnect the drive cable from the actuating lever on the gearbox (see resist. illustration), then disconnect the control arm wiring connector and connect special equipment to this connector (see above), connect it to the battery and turn the ignition key to position «II».




9. Set the manual actuator lever to the neutral position (see paragraph 5), then move it sequentially to fixed positions «R» And «D» - appropriate signals should appear on the screen of the KM-962-A device. If the indication of the device does not correspond to the required, loosen the 2 fastening bolts (see resist. illustration) and adjust the position of the lever. Tighten the bolts with a force of 25 Nm, making sure that the lever does not change its position.



10. Connect the drive cable and ask the assistant to move the selector lever through all fixed positions - check the correct functioning of the drive using the indication on the screen of the KM-962-A device (see the instruction manual for the device).

11. At the end of the adjustment, turn off the ignition, disconnect the devices and reinstall all the removed components.
