Removing
1. Place a drip pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove as much working fluid as possible from the expansion tank.
4. Raise and secure the vehicle.
5. Remove the front right fender liner.
6. Remove the drive belt only from the power steering pump pulley (see section «Attachment Drive Belt Replacement» in chapter «The mechanical part of gasoline engines 2.8 l»).
7. Loosen clamp (2) and disconnect the outlet hose (1) power steering expansion tank from pump (3).
8. Mark the position of the steering gear inlet hose (7) regarding the pump.
9. Unscrew the hollow bolt (5) steering gear inlet hose.
10. Disconnect the power steering inlet hose from the pump.
11. Remove O-rings (6, 8) steering gear inlet hose.
Note. Do not reuse inlet hose o-rings.
12. Through the holes in the pulley, unscrew the bolts (4) power steering pump mounts. Loosen the two mounting bolts on the right side of the power steering pump.
13. Loosen the bolt (9) on the left side of the power steering pump.
14. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle.
15. If necessary, rearrange the pulley from the old to the new power steering pump.
Installation
1. Cut and bend the metal plate of the booster inlet hose along the cut line (1).
2. Install the power steering pump (3) on the car.
3. Install three bolts (4, 9) power steering pump mounts. Using the MKM-6600-1 wrench, tighten the bolts to 22 Nm.
4. Install two new O-rings (6, 8) to the steering gear inlet hose.
5. Aligning the alignment marks, connect the inlet hose (7) steering gear to the pump.
6. Install hollow bolt (5) steering gear inlet hose and tighten to 37.5 Nm.
7. Connect the outlet hose (1) expansion tank to the power steering pump. Fix the hose with a clamp (2).
8. Install the drive belt on the power steering pump pulley (see section «Attachment Drive Belt Replacement» in chapter 6d «The mechanical part of gasoline engines 2.8 l»),
9. Install the right front fender liner.
10. Lower the car.
11. Fill the working fluid into the hydraulic booster reservoir and bleed the system.
12. Remove excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
13. To take the pallet for collecting of a liquid from under the car.
