Hydraulic chain tensioner
Removing
Remove the timing cover, see item 1.12.
Remove both chain tensioner screws.
Attention: When removing the chain tensioner, make sure that the sliding pressure segment does not pop out of the guide bush.
Remove chain tensioner.
Installation
Thoroughly clean individual parts with petrol and check their suitability for use.
Attention: Broken parts cannot be replaced individually. If necessary, replace the target tensioner as a set.
Install the chain tensioner.
Install the timing case cover.
Mechanical tensioner
Removing
Remove the timing cover, see item 1.12.
Loosen the chain tensioner screws.
Remove chain tensioner.
Clean mating surface.
Installation
Before installing the chain tensioner, make sure that the oil injection hole is free (arrow).
Screw the chain tensioner by hand with the bottom screw (arrow).
Insert feeler gauge -arrow- between thrust slots and spring.
Compress the tensioner in the direction of the arrow and screw in the top screw.
Remove the feeler gauge and tighten the screws.
For better adhesion, lubricate the new gasket with oil and install it.
Install the timing cover.
