Removing
Raise the front of the car. put on stands and remove the front wheel.
Remove the front wheel brake caliper and hang it on the technological hook to the body without disconnecting the brake hose.
Loosen and loosen the hub nut.
Loosen and loosen the tie rod ball joint stud nut and press the stud out of the suspension strut pivot arm using a universal puller.
Separate the ball joint pin from the steering knuckle in the same way.
Remove the wheel drive shaft from the hub by hand. If difficult to remove, use a puller.
Unscrew the nuts securing the upper support of the telescopic strut and remove the strut.
Place the strut in the spring compressor and compress the suspension spring.
Remove the upper suspension strut mount together with the ball bearing by unscrewing the nut on the strut rod with a double angle wrench «at 19». while holding the rod of the rack from turning.
Installation
Lubricate the upper strut mount ball bearing with bearing grease.
Note. It is forbidden to remove the ball bearing from the upper support of the suspension strut. In spare parts, these parts are supplied assembled.
Slide the top support onto the rack rod. Install a flat washer «A» (see picture) under the bearing with the collar up, and the flat washer «B» - on the bearing.
Install and tighten a new self-locking strut stem nut while holding the stem from turning.
Release the suspension spring.
Install the suspension strut on the vehicle and tighten the bolts to the upper support.
Lubricate the splines of the hub with gearbox oil and insert the splined shank of the outer joint of the front wheel shaft into them.
Connect the suspension strut to the lower suspension arm, then attach the tie rod to it.
Install the brake caliper. Install a new hub nut with a new washer and adjust the wheel bearing clearance.
