Checking the straight-line position of the mechanical steering

For setting the steering mechanism to a position corresponding to straight-line movement. should get the size «A» =325 mm (see picture) between the pin on the spacer of the tie rods and the left steering housing support, when viewed in the direction of travel of the vehicle.



In this position, the steering wheel spokes must point downwards symmetrically. The pinch bolt of the steering shaft connecting flange must be at the top in a horizontal position. If the flange is in a different position, then the position of the drive gear must be changed.

If the steering wheel is in the wrong position, then remove it from the shaft and install it in the desired position.
