Remove differential cover.
Mark the position of the adjusting nut of the differential box bearing relative to the gearbox housing and, moving the differential box by hand, check the axial clearance of its bearings.
Remove the locking plate and use KM 447 to unscrew the adjusting nut for the preload of the differential box bearings.
Remove the differential through the opening closed by the cover.
Using tools KM 454-2 and KM 454-4, remove the glands of the adjusting nut.
Using tools KM 304 and KM 451, press the bearing outer race out of the gearbox housing.
Press the tapered roller bearing inner races off the differential case.
Loosen the bolts securing the driven gear of the final drive to the differential box and press it with a hammer through a brass drift.
Remove the speedometer drive gear by cutting it with a chisel.
Remove the retaining rings of the satellite shaft and knock out the axis.
By turning the satellites and side gears, remove them from the differential box, and then remove the thrust washers.
Remove dirt from the parts, check their condition and carefully lubricate with gearbox oil.
