Speedometer drive cable — replacement

1. Remove the dashboard as described in Chapter 24.

2. In the engine compartment, pull the cable through the bulkhead and remove the sealing ring.

3. Jack up the front of the car and fix it on axle stands.

4. Unscrew the knurled nut and disconnect the cable from the gearbox (photo). Remove the rope.



5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, but make sure that the cable is not stretched or bent.
