1. The engine must be warmed up to operating temperature, the idling speed and the mixture must be properly adjusted.
2. Place the fast idle adjustment screw to the second highest pitch of the fast idle cam. Connect the tachometer to the engine according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure the air damper is fully open.
3. Start the engine without touching the throttle pedal and compare the engine speed with that given in the Specifications. If adjustment is necessary, remove the fast idle screw plug and adjust the frequency with the fast idle screw (photo).
4. After making the adjustment, stop the engine and disconnect the tachometer.
