1. Remove the air filter (Chapter 4).
2. Disconnect the wire connector from the valve. Turn on the ignition and check with a voltmeter that the supply voltage is at least 11.5 volts.
3. Using an ohmmeter, check that the resistance at the valve terminals is 6.0±1.5 ohms at an ambient temperature of 20-30°C.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hoses, then apply vacuum to the carburetor channel. With the electrical wiring disconnected, the valve should be open.
5. Connect the wiring, continue to apply vacuum with the ignition on. From the time of reconnection, the valve should close in 4-10 seconds at an ambient temperature of 20°C. Replace the valve if it does not work properly.
6. Turn off the ignition, install the air filter.
