Vacuum booster — removal and installation

Examination

1. Depress the brake pedal several times to remove the vacuum from the vacuum booster.

2. Depress the brake pedal and start the engine. The pedal should go down a little.

Removing

1. Depress the brake pedal several times to remove the vacuum from the vacuum booster.

2. Disconnect the connection connector from the brake fluid level sensor.

3. Unscrew the fixing nuts of the master brake cylinder and remove it from the vacuum booster.

4. Remove the vacuum hose connector.

5. Disconnect the return spring from the brake pedal. Remove the brake light switch.

6. Remove the clip and remove the pin that secures the vacuum booster pusher to the brake pedal.

7. Unscrew the fixing nuts and remove the vacuum booster.

Installation

1. Screw the connecting plug onto the vacuum booster pusher so that the distance between the surface of the booster mounting bracket and the hole on the plug is 106.0±0.5 mm. Tighten locknut.

2. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
