Models with 4-cylinder engine
Removing
1. Set the front wheels straight.
2. Mark the position of the steering arm in relation to the steering gear. Unscrew the fixing nut and remove the lever from the axle using a puller.
3. Remove the trim panel under the dashboard.
4. Unscrew the coupling bolt of the lower mounting of the steering column and disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering mechanism.
5. Turn off nuts of connections and disconnect hydraulic tubes from the steering mechanism.
6. Turn off fixing bolts and nuts and remove the steering mechanism.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Models with 6-cylinder engine
Removing
1. Set the front wheels straight.
2. Mark the position of the steering arm in relation to the steering mechanism. Unscrew the fixing nut and remove the lever from the axle using a puller.
3. Turn off fixing bolts and remove protective screens from the steering mechanism.
4. Disconnect the steering gear connector.
5. Remove the damper from the right side of the engine and unscrew the nut securing the right engine mounting block to the body.
6. Lock the steering column lock to prevent the steering wheel from turning.
7. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum brake booster.
8. Release pressure from the fuel system and disconnect the fuel lines from the intake manifold.
9. Remove the coolant reservoir.
10. Disconnect the hoses from the carbon filter.
11. Tag and disconnect hydraulic lines (indicated by arrows) from the steering gear.
12. Remove the trim panel under the dashboard.
13. Unscrew the coupling bolt of the lower mounting of the steering column and disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering mechanism.
14. Install a lift and raise the right side of the engine about 3 cm.
15. Remove the starter.
16. Loosen the fixing screws (indicated by arrows) and nuts and remove the steering gear.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
