Mounting bolts are indicated by arrows.
Removing
1. Remove the timing chain and sprocket top cover.
2. Remove the cylinder head. Theoretically, it is possible to remove the timing chain cover without removing the cylinder head, however, in this case, there is a high probability of damage to the cylinder head gasket.
3. Remove the cooling system pump.
4. Remove the crankshaft pulley. When loosening the pulley mounting bolt, temporarily remove the crankshaft locking pulley, and after removing the pulley, install the locking pin in place.
5. Remove the oil pan.
6. Remove the generator.
7. Remove the power steering pump.
8. Unscrew the lower head of the chain tensioner and remove the plunger of the chain tensioner.
9. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover of a chain to the block of cylinders of the engine and remove a cover. Keep in mind that the bolts are different lengths.
10. Unscrew the pivot bolt and remove the top (1) and lower (2) chain tensioners.
11. unscrew the bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the lower chain guide from the cylinder block.
12. Temporarily remove the sprocket from the fuel pump and remove the chain cover gasket, then reinstall the sprocket.
Installation
1. Replace the crankshaft oil seal.
2. Check that the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head are clean and dry and that the guide pins are in their seats.
3. Temporarily remove the sprocket from the fuel pump shaft, install the gasket and place it on the guide pins. Install the sprocket on the fuel pump shaft.
4. Install the lower chain guide.
5. Install chain tensioners and secure with pivot bolt.
6. Reinstall the chain cover, align the oil pump drive with the crankshaft sprocket and slide the cover onto the guide pins.
7. Gradually and sequentially tighten the chain cover bolts.
8. Install a new O-ring to the chain tensioner lower head.
9. Install the crankshaft pulley.
10. Install the cylinder head.
11. Install the chain and sprocket top cover.
12. Install the oil pan.
13. Install the coolant pump, alternator, power steering pump and auxiliary drive belt.
14. Fill the engine with engine oil and coolant.
15. Start the engine and check for leaks.
