Oil seals — replacement

Cardan shaft flange seal

1. Disconnect the front of the propeller shaft from the gearbox flange and remove the shock absorber. If necessary, completely remove the cardan shaft.

2. Stop the driven shaft.

3. Unscrew the nut and remove the flange.

4. Remove the oil seal from the gearbox housing.

5. Inspect the flange for damage and replace if necessary.

6. Clean the gland groove, shaft threads and nuts.

7. Lubricate the new oil seal and install it in place.

8. Install the driveshaft flange.

9. Tighten the nut.

Switch rod seal

1. Remove the shift lever position switch.

2. Remove the seal using a small screwdriver.

3. Install a new oil seal.
