The hydraulic brake system is divided into two circuits - front and rear. The circuits operate independently of each other, and in the event of failure of one of them, braking is carried out by the wheels of the second circuit. The floor-mounted handbrake lever actuates the individual brake pads via cable ties. The parking brake pads are installed inside drums built into the brake discs of the rear wheels. The tension of the handbrake cables is adjusted manually.
All models are equipped as standard with 4-channel ABS with independent hydraulic lines for all four brakes.
When braking, the ABS system regulates the pressure in the brake actuator to prevent the wheels from locking on slippery roads or during hard braking.
The system's electronic control unit receives signals from the wheel speed sensors. By comparing these signals, the control unit determines which of the wheels has slowed down and is close to blocking. The system automatically disables this brake mechanism, and when the threat of blocking passes, it activates it again.
On models with 6-cylinder engines, the ABS electronic control unit also controls the traction control system (TS).
