Removing
1. Block the front wheels, then jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on axle stands. Remove both rear wheels.
2. Unhook the rubber pads securing the rear of the exhaust system and lower the pipe approximately 30 cm. Tie it in this position to the body.
3. Release the brake hoses from the brackets on the diagonal arms by pulling out the blocking plates.
4. Support the final drive unit with a jack.
5. On each side, unscrew the three bolts of the bracket and the central bolt of the rear cross member and remove the brackets.
6. Now you need to remove the mount from the cross member. This can be done with a special Opel tool (see illustration). Slightly lower the crossbar and insert the puller bolt from above, then assemble the tool as shown and, while tightening the nut, remove the fastener. Alternatively, use a metal tube, a long bolt, and large washers or metal plates.
7. Another Opel tool is used to install the fasteners (see illustration). Alternatively, a similar tool can be made from a metal plate and a long bolt.
Installation
8. Install in reverse order.
