The coolant temperature is too high, the control lamp flashes while driving
Too little coolant in the system
- The expansion tank must be filled to the maximum mark. Add fluid if necessary. Check the tightness of the cooling system by contacting a workshop.
The thermostat does not open. Coolant circulates only in the small circuit
- Check if the hoses going to the radiator get hot. If not, remove and check the thermostat. Replace if necessary.
Radiator fins dirty
- Blow out the radiator from the engine side with compressed air
Radiator clogged with lime deposits or rust. Radiator hoses do not get hot.
- Replace radiator
Radiator fan not working
- Replace viscous fan belt
- Check the tightness of the thermoswitch and electric fan plugs.
- Check the thermal switch of the electric fan, make sure it is receiving power (ignition on, thermal switch plug contacts bridged). If power is supplied, replace the electric fan.
Defective steam valve on the cover of the expansion tank
- Check the pressure cooling system. Replace cover if necessary
Faulty coolant temperature gauge
- Check the coolant/fluid temperature gauge sensor and the gauge itself
Vehicles with a 150 hp petrol engine. Water pump not working
- Replace V-belt
