Signal lights
- turn indicator signal light.
The light flashes when the turn signal is on. An increase in the blinking cycle of the bulb indicates a burnout of the bulb of one of the direction indicators.
- preheat signal light. Vehicles with a diesel engine. The lamp is on during preheating.
Attention! For vehicles with a Y22DHT engine, preheating is only activated at low temperatures.
- coolant temperature warning light.
If the light comes on while the engine is running, stop, shut off the engine and check the coolant level.
- indicator light on the trailer.
Flashes in time with the direction indicators when driving with a trailer. Does not flash if one of the turn signal bulbs on the vehicle or trailer burns out.
- warning light for an unfastened seat belt.
Illuminates for a few seconds, accompanied by an audible signal when the ignition is switched on, reminding you to fasten your seat belts.
- ABS warning light.
Lights up when the ignition is switched on for a few seconds. At this point, the ABS self-diagnosis is performed, after which the light goes out. If the light does not go out or lights up while driving, then the ABS is faulty. The brake system in this case retains its performance.
- signal light of the engine control unit and anti-theft system.
When the ignition is turned on, the lamp lights up and goes out after the engine starts.
Attention! For cars with petrol engines Z22XE and Y26SE, the system for monitoring the state of the engine control electronics has its own characteristics.
If the light comes on when the engine is running, then there is a malfunction in the engine control electronics. In this case, the engine control unit switches to the execution of the so-called emergency program to ensure the continuation of movement.
In this case, we recommend that you contact an OPEL specialist workshop as soon as possible. If the light comes on briefly while driving, you can ignore it.
If the light flashes after the ignition is turned on, this means a malfunction of the anti-theft system and the engine cannot be started.
- warning light for the exhaust system. Cars with petrol engines Z 22 XE and Y 26 SE.
The lamp lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started. If the lamp lights up when the engine is running, then there is a malfunction in the exhaust system and the content of harmful substances in the exhaust gas may exceed the permissible limits. It is recommended that you contact a specialist workshop immediately.
If the light flashes after the ignition is switched on, then there is a malfunction that can damage the catalytic converter. In this case, you should also immediately contact the workshop.
- signal light of the engine control unit and anti-theft system. Cars with petrol engines Z 22 XE and Y 26 SE.
The lamp lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started.
If the light comes on when the engine is running, then there is a malfunction in the engine control electronics. In this case, the engine control unit switches to a so-called emergency program. This may increase fuel consumption, and engine acceleration may decrease. In this case, we recommend that you contact an OPEL specialist workshop as soon as possible.
If the light flashes after the ignition is turned on, this means a malfunction of the anti-theft system.
- signal light for automatic transmission. Illuminates when sport driving mode is activated.
- high beam signal lamp.
Lights up when high beam is on. It also lights up when a light signal is given.
- engine oil pressure warning light.
Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started. It may light up for a short time when the engine is idling hot and go out when the engine speed is increased.
If the light comes on while driving, stop and shut off the engine immediately, as this may interfere with engine lubrication, resulting in damage to the engine or blocking of the drive wheels.
- 1. Depress the clutch pedal.
- 2. Move the gearshift lever to the neutral position, and on a car with an automatic transmission, the control lever to the N position.
- 3. Turn off the ignition.
- 4. Remove the key from the ignition switch after the vehicle has come to a complete stop, otherwise the steering wheel may suddenly lock. After turning off the ignition, you will need to apply significantly more effort to the brake pedal and steering wheel.
- 5. Contact the appropriate workshop.
- warning light for airbags and seat belt tensioners.
The light comes on when the ignition is turned on for about 4 seconds. If the lamp does not light up or does not go out after starting the engine, then there is a malfunction of the airbags or seat belt tensioners. Contact the appropriate workshop immediately.
- signal light for the wheel traction control system.
The lamp lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started. Flashing the light while driving indicates that the system has worked and the car is on the verge of uncontrolled movement. In this case, it is recommended to slow down and drive in accordance with the road conditions.
- signal light for the brake system and hydraulic clutch.
Lights up when the ignition is turned on and lights up when the parking brake is applied or when the fluid level in the reservoir is low.
If the light is on when the parking brake is not applied, then you should stop further movement and stop or, without endangering the traffic following you, drive to the nearest service station.
- signal light for battery charging. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started.
If the light comes on while driving, stop and turn off the engine. In such cases, engine cooling failure may also occur. On models with diesel engines, the vacuum brake booster may stop working. Contact the workshop.
- fog lamp warning light. Illuminates when the fog lights are on.
- rear fog light warning light. Illuminates when the rear fog light is on.
- signal light for fuel reserve. Illuminates when only reserve fuel remains in the fuel tank.
If the lamp flashes, this indicates the full use of fuel. Refuel immediately. Never allow the fuel tank to be completely empty!
Attention! For vehicles with a diesel engine, it will take some time to bleed the fuel system when refueling after emptying the fuel tank.
- automatic transmission malfunction indicator light.
Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out shortly after starting the engine. If the light comes on while driving, it indicates a malfunction. Shift gears manually to continue driving. Contact a repair shop.
- warning light for a malfunction of the automatic headlight beam tilt adjustment.
Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out shortly after starting the engine. If the light comes on while driving, it indicates a malfunction. Contact the workshop.
