2.5L Diesel Vehicles - Engine Oil Change
On vehicles with a 2.5 liter diesel engine, the engine oil should be changed at the following intervals:
- 1) vehicles manufactured from 9/1997 to 8/2001 (X25DT) - after a run of 10,000 km.
- 2) vehicles manufactured since 9/2001 (Y25DT) - every 15,000 km of run.
Along with the replacement of engine oil, the oil filter also changes, and condensate is drained from the fuel filter.
Maintenance
All types of engines except 2.5L diesel
Maintenance must be carried out every 12 months.
If the car has traveled 15,000 km before this date, then maintenance is performed by mileage. Operations marked with • are performed at every service. The work marked with ■ is carried out additionally at every second service.
Vehicles with a 2.5L diesel engine
Maintenance must be carried out every 12 months or after 20,000 km. Jobs marked with • are performed at every service. The work marked with ■ is carried out additionally at every second service.
As part of the service, additional work is also carried out, marked with a ♦ symbol, if the vehicle has traveled the specified number of kilometers since the last service or the service deadlines have come.
Attention! Under difficult operating conditions, the engine oil should be changed more frequently. These conditions are: driving mainly for short distances or within the city, frequent driving on mountainous or dusty roads, operating a car with a trailer.
Work in progress
Engine
- • Visually check the tightness of the oil lines and the absence of engine oil leaks.
- • Change engine oil and oil filter. On vehicles with a 2.5 liter diesel engine, the engine oil is changed every 7,500 or 10,000 km.
- • Check the condition of the accessory drive ribbed belt and replace it if necessary. Pulling the ribbed belt is not required.
- • Cooling and heating system. Check fluid level, antifreeze concentration. Visually inspect the radiator for leaks, damage, and contamination.
- • Inspect the exhaust system for damage.
- • Check the tightness of the fuel system, the gasket and the condition of the fuel lines. Make sure the fuel hoses are not chafed and are securely fastened.
- • Remove condensation from the fuel filter. On vehicles with a 2.5 liter diesel engine, condensate is removed every 7,500 or 10,000 km.
- ■ Vehicles with 2.0L petrol engine (115 hp) release up to 8/95. Replace the spark plugs.
Gearbox, final drive
- • Cuffs SHRUS. Check condition and make sure there are no leaks.
- • Mechanical/automatic transmission and rear axle differential. Perform a visual leak test. If oil leaks are found, contact a workshop.
Front suspension and steering
- • Tie rod ends. Check the condition of the dust caps on the ball joints of the handpieces.
- • Ball joints. Check the condition of the dust caps.
- • Steering. Check play.
- Check the power steering and make sure it is tight, and if necessary add oil to the reservoir.
Body
- • Check the anti-corrosion protection of the bottom.
- • Check the condition of the paintwork and repair any damage.
- ■ Lubricate door hinges and door latches, hood latch, trunk hinges.
- ■ Check the condition of the seat belts.
Brakes, tires, wheels
- • Check the residual thickness of the front and rear disc brake pads.
- • Brake system. Inspect pipelines, hoses, brake cylinders and make sure that there are no leaks or damage.
- • Brake fluid level. Check, top up if necessary.
- • Check the condition and function of the parking brake.
- • Tires. Check the tread height and tire pressure. Check tires for wear and damage (including spare wheel).
- • Tighten the wheel bolts with 110 Nm.
Electrical equipment
- • All consumers of the onboard electrical network. Check functionality.
- • Lighting. Check operation and, if necessary, adjust the headlight range.
- • Sound signal. Check functionality.
- • Glass cleaners. Check the condition of the brush rubber band.
- • Washers of glasses. Check the operation, the position of the jets, add washing liquid, and also check the headlight washers.
- • Accumulator battery. Check the fastening strength and the electrolyte level in the cells.
- • Remote control for central locking. Replace batteries.
Additional work
Every 2 years
- • Change brake fluid regardless of mileage (including in the clutch drive).
Every 2 years/mileage 30,000 km
- • Replace the cabin filter.
- • Replace the fuel filter on diesel vehicles.
Every 4 years/mileage 60,000 km
- • Vehicles with a 2.5 liter diesel engine. Replace coolant.
- • Vehicles with a gasoline engine. Replace fuel filter.
- • Replace the filter cartridge for vehicles with 2.0/2.2L petrol and diesel engines from 9/1998 and for vehicles with 2.5L diesel engines from 9/1999.
- • Vehicles with a gasoline engine. Replace spark plugs.
Every 6 years/mileage 90,000 km
