Front crankshaft oil seal — replacement

Removing

1. Remove the vibration damper and check that the sealing surfaces are not damaged.

2. Install the extractor 3 KM-6266 on the stuffing box 1 and press out the stuffing box with a bolt 2 from the timing gear housing (see illustration).



3. Clean the seat and remove the remnants of the old seal.

Installation

4. Install tool 1 KM-6252 on the crankshaft and lubricate it with white silicone grease (see illustration).



5. Put a new oil seal on the KM-6252 tool and slide it into the mounting hole in the casing of the timing gear drive.

6. Remove the KM-6252 tool.

7. Fix mandrel 1 KM-6251 on the crankshaft and install ring 3 KM-6249 on it (see illustration).



8. Press the stuffing box into the hole by screwing nut 2 on the mandrel rod (see illustration 10.7).

9. After installing the stuffing box, remove the mandrel KM-6249 and KM-6251 and install the vibration damper.
