Compression — check

1. Remove glow plugs.

2. Disconnect plug 1 of the wiring harness from the injection pump control unit by pushing it in the direction of the arrow (see illustration).



3. Connect a compression tester with a pressure measuring range of 10-40 bar to the glow plug socket with the appropriate adapter (see illustration).



4. Operate the starter for approximately four seconds, cranking the engine at a speed of at least 1500 rpm and read the compression gauge. The pressure in the cylinders must not differ by more than 1 bar.

5. Connect the plug to the injection pump control unit and screw in the glow plugs.
