Cylinder head cover — removal and installation

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire terminal from the battery «masses» (-).

2. Remove the protective cover from the engine and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover.

3. Unscrew the bolts of the holder 1 of the wiring harness, remove it from the cover of the cylinder head and release the wiring harness from it (see illustration).



4. Disconnect the positive potential wire terminal from the battery pole and lay wire 2 «masses» (-) and wiring harness 3 so that they do not touch (see illustration).



5. Disconnect the multi-pin plug 4 (see illustration).



6. Disconnect the plugs from the glow plugs 2 and remove the tire 1 of the wiring harness from the cover and cylinder head (see illustration).




7. Disconnect bus 3 of the wiring harness from the cylinder head cover and the bottom of the intake manifold, disconnecting the plugs if necessary (see illustration).



8. Disconnect from a cover of a head of the block of cylinders fuel lines and hoses of low pressure and put them aside from the place of works.

9. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.

10. Clean the sealing surfaces of the cover and cylinder head and remove the seal residues.

Installation

11. Lay a new sealing gasket 2 of the head cover. The gasket fits into recess 1 (see illustration).



12. Apply black sealant to the mating surfaces at the points indicated by the arrows (see illustration).




13. Install the cover on the cylinder head and screw in the mounting bolts with a force of 8 Nm.

14. Fix on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders fuel lines and hoses of low pressure.

15. Connect the holder of a plait of wires to a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.

16. Fix on the bottom part of an inlet collector and a cover of a head of the block of cylinders the bus of a plait of wires, having connected, if disconnected, plugs.

17. Connect the plugs of the pre-glow plugs and make sure they are firmly seated.

18. Connect the positive and negative potential terminals.

19. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover and close the engine with a protective cover.
