2. If the base is not available, you can disassemble the engine on a sturdy workbench or on the floor. Be extremely careful not to overturn or drop the engine when working without a stand.
3. Before disassembling the engine or replacing it with an already rebuilt unit, remove all external components:
- A) intake and exhaust manifolds (see related section).
- b) Alternator/power steering pump/air conditioning compressor brackets.
- V) Water pump (see related section).
- G) Fuel System Components (see related section).
- d) Wiring harness and all electrical switches and sensors.
- e) Oil filter (see related section).
- and) Flywheel/Drive Disc (see the relevant part of this Section).
Attention! When removing the external components of the shifter, pay special attention to parts that may be useful or important in their installation. Note the correct location of gaskets, seals, spacers, pins, washers, bolts and other small components.
4. If purchased for replacement «incomplete» engine (those. assembly of cylinder block, crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods), it is necessary to remove the cylinder head, sump, oil pump and timing belt from the old engine.
5. If you are planning a complete overhaul, the engine can be disassembled and the internal components removed in the following order:
- A) intake and exhaust manifolds (see related section).
- b) Toothed drive belt, sprockets and tensioner.
- V) Head (ki) cylinder block.
- G) Flywheel/Drive Disc.
- d) Pallet.
- e) Oil pump.
- and) Piston/rod assemblies.
- h) Crankshaft.
6. Before starting work, make sure that you have all the necessary tools at hand.
