Intake air storage chamber — removal and installation

Vehicles with V6 engine

In the power supply system of the V6 engine, an air accumulation chamber is additionally installed between the air filter housing and the engine.

Removing

1. Disconnect the plug of the mass air flow sensor 8 and the intake air temperature sensor 9 (see illustration).

2. Disconnect the intake air hose 1 of the mass air flow sensor from the air filter housing by loosening the clamp (see illustration 5.1).

3. Disconnect both intake air hoses 2 from the intake manifold by loosening the clamps (see illustration 5.1).

4. Vehicles with a 2.3-/3.0-liter engine. Disconnect the idle speed regulator hose from nozzle 3 (see illustration 5.1).

5. Disconnect the plug and low pressure hose 5 from the solenoid valve 4 (see illustration 5.1).



6. Unscrew nuts 7, move the storage chamber up and remove it from the holder 6 (see illustration 5.1).

The storage chamber is installed in the reverse order of removal.
