Removing
Attention! When removing the fuel pump, it is recommended to empty the fuel tank, otherwise fuel will flow out when removed. To do this, the fuel should be taken through the filler neck using a special pump.
1. Relieve pressure in the fuel system.
2. Disconnect the wire terminal «masses» (-) from the battery.
3. Bend back the trunk floor covering, unscrew the fastening bolts and remove cover 1 (see illustration).
4. Disconnect plug 1 (see illustration).
5. Designate the supply 2 and return 3 fuel lines and disconnect them from the nozzles by loosening the fastening clamps (see illustration 1.4). Plug the hose openings with suitable plugs.
6. Turn away a nut ring in an aperture of a fuel tank. In workshops, for this purpose, fixture 1 KM-673 is used (see illustration). The nut can be unscrewed using a suitable piece of wood and a hammer.
Attention! Sparking is not allowed. Do not use a metal wedge.
7. Remove the cover and disconnect the plug of the fuel pump 1, as well as the plug of the sensor 2 of the fuel gauge, supply 3 and return 4 fuel hoses, loosening their clamps (see illustration). Separate parts designate.
8. Squeeze the three locking tabs 1 with your hand (see illustration).
9. Remove the fuel pump using the hook inserted into the eyelet 1. Collect the spilled fuel in a suitable container (see illustration).
10. Remove the mesh fuel filter 1, having previously marked its position (see illustration).
11. Disconnect the fuel hose and two plugs from the pump.
12. Press the retaining clips 1 and at the same time remove the retaining ring 2 from the fuel pump housing 3, and then remove the fuel pump (see illustration).
Installation of the fuel pump is carried out in the reverse order of removal
13. Install the fuel pump with the circlip into the housing. The suction pipe 1 of the pump must be located in the recess 2 of the base of the casing (see illustration).
The tightening torque of the ring nut is 50 Nm.
