Attention! The accelerator cable is very sensitive to kinks. One single bend in the future can lead to a break in the cable during the operation of the car. In this regard, a cable that has undergone a kink cannot be installed.
Attention! Vehicles with a 2.2 liter petrol engine are equipped with a so-called electronic accelerator.
Removing
1. Remove cable tip 1 from holder 3 together with rubber bush 2 (see illustration).
Attention! Do not remove the clamp 4 of the cable end.
The accelerator cable is fixed on a rod with a spherical grip.
2. Depress the locking bracket 5 from the spherical grip, push it up and remove (see illustration 3.1).
3. Press out the spherical grip with a screwdriver.
4. V6 vehicles with cruise control. Disconnect the cruise control cable 1 from the ball head (see illustration).
5. Squeeze clamp 2 with pliers and squeeze it out (see illustration 2.4).
The accelerator cable is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Adjustment
6. Have an assistant depress the accelerator pedal several times.
7. Adjust the tension of the accelerator cable by rearranging the clamp on the support for attaching the tip of the cable, achieving the displacement of the throttle drive lever until it stops.
8. Press the throttle actuator lever all the way. Allows a small gap between the stop and the lever, but not more than 1 mm.
