Vehicles with a 2.5L diesel engine
Attention! For vehicles with 2.0 and 2.2 liter engines, the high pressure fuel lines are removed in the same way. The removal of the injectors on vehicles with a 2.0/2.2l engine must be carried out in a workshop, as this is preceded by numerous preliminary work.
The first signs of injector problems are:
- interruptions in ignition
- knocking in one or more cylinders,
- engine overheating,
- engine power drop
- too much black smoke from the exhaust pipe.
Removing
1. Remove the engine cover and disconnect the boost air line that is above the injectors.
2. Disconnect from an arm on a head of the block of cylinders a hose of low pressure of the vacuum amplifier of a brake drive.
3. Remove the intake manifold.
4. Clean the high pressure lines with a cold cleaner.
5. Remove the high pressure fuel lines. To do this, using a special wrench 1, for example, HAZET 4550, loosen the union nuts for fastening pipelines on the injection pump and on the valve injectors (see illustration).
Attention! Do not change the shape of the bend of the high pressure fuel lines.
Attention! If it is necessary to remove the clamps of the high-pressure fuel lines, first mark their mounting position with a felt-tip pen.
6. Disconnect the fuel return hoses from the injectors.
7. Unscrew the nozzles with a 27 mm socket wrench, eg HAZET 4555-1.
8. Close the nozzles from below with protective caps to prevent contamination from entering.
Attention! Don't drop the nozzles. In addition, the plug of the built-in sensor for the start of injection is fixed to the injector of cylinder No. 4. When installing the injectors, they should be put in their original places.
Installation of nozzles and fuel lines of a high pressure is carried out in sequence, return to removal. The tightening torque of the injectors is 60 Nm, and the fuel lines are 25 Nm. The high-pressure fuel lines on vehicles with a 2.0 l engine are fastened with tightening torques of 30 Nm.
9. Start the engine and check the fuel system for leaks.
