1. On the models under consideration, antifreeze must always be present in the coolant (in any season). Antifreeze is mixed with clean, preferably soft water. The concentration of antifreeze depends on the required degree of protection.
2. 25% antifreeze should be considered as the minimum concentration that provides good anti-corrosion protection and prevents freezing at temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius.
3. For complete protection, the solution must contain 50% antifreeze.
4. Before adding fresh antifreeze to the system, drain the coolant and flush the system (see sections 3 and 4). Check that all hoses are in good condition and that the clamps are holding well. Antifreeze has a greater ability to penetrate than ordinary water.
5. Fill the system with fresh coolant (see section 6). In the future, it will be necessary to add a mixture of antifreeze and water in the correct proportion.
b. Antifreeze should be replaced every 2 years, because by this time it loses its properties as a corrosion inhibitor. Do not try to use this antifreeze on your windshield washer; it will stain the glass and attack the paint. Remember that antifreeze is poisonous and be careful when working with it.
7. If you don't need antifreeze (mild winters), you should still add a corrosion inhibitor to the coolant and never use water alone.
