External lighting fixtures
Main switch
The switch has three positions:
- (1) = Off
- (2) = Parking light
- (3) = low/high beam
In switch positions (2) And (3) the taillights and license plate lights also come on
Adjusting the direction of the beams of the headlights
In order not to dazzle the drivers of oncoming vehicles, the adjustment of the direction of the dipped beam of the headlights is made asymmetrically, with the directrix shifted towards the curb (for Russia - deployed to the right). When leaving Russia for countries with left-hand traffic, special shields should be worn on the headlights, covering the right sector of the lens in the range of 15°.
On some models of cars of the Opel Frontera brand, it is possible to adjust the direction of the beams of the headlights in order to compensate for the distortions caused by uneven loading of the car.
Adjustment is made using a special switch.
The switch must be set to position "0", when there is only one driver in the car. Position "1" corresponds to the situation when all seats in the cabin are occupied; position "2" - all seats are occupied, and cargo is placed in the luggage compartment; Position "3" (5 door models) - the driver and cargo in the luggage compartment.
Proper adjustment of the direction of the beams of the headlights guarantees the protection of drivers of oncoming vehicles from glare.
