1. Drain the fluid from the system as described in Section Filling the cooling system cooler Chapters Ongoing care and maintenance. Loosen the expansion tank cap to allow fluid to escape. Collect the liquid in a container if it will be used later. Otherwise, dispose of it properly.
2. Disconnect the thermostat and fan connectors.
3. Loosen the hose clamps on the radiator and remove the hoses. Take the hoses to the side without bending them.
4. For a car before 1993 with a 2.0 liter engine, remove the fan cover and hang it on the fan.
5. Detach the radiator mount at the top. The radiator is attached with corners on the left and right sides and bolts in the center. Take out a radiator up, at cars till 1993 of release together with facing. When doing this, be careful not to damage the tubes.
When installing a new radiator, it is also necessary to install new elements of its fastening.
Instruction. On a DOHC engine, the hoses must be disconnected from the intake air resonator. In addition, before removing the radiator, you must remove the fan motor housing. Details of this engine are shown in fig. paragraph 5 (Removal and installation of a radiator).
The radiator is installed in the reverse order of its removal. Fill the system with fluid as described in Section Filling the cooling system cooler Chapters Ongoing care and maintenance.
