Bypass valve in the cylinder head (issue since 1997)
The safety valve is located under the screw plug and consists of a steel ball with a spring. For him, the description given regarding the valve of an earlier release is true. To do this, the cylinder head must be removed.
Pressure reducing valve (all engines)
The pressure reducing valve can be replaced without removing the engine. The sump guard must be removed.
1. If there is air conditioning, remove the power steering pump, for vehicles without air conditioning, remove the alternator.
2. Remove the bolt (1), screwed into the end plane of the oil pump and shown in illustration. The bolt is under spring force.
3. Take out the parts in order and store them in the order of installation.
4. Install the new valve in reverse order. Tighten the plug with a torque of 30 Nm.
Bearing bridge and oil damping sheet
1. The cylinder block has the form shown in fig. Bearing bridge (1) bolted to the underside of the cylinder block and the crankshaft main bearing caps, thus forming a rigid connection. Oil damping sheet (2) bolted to the bottom of the bearing bridge (3). When removing the oil pan for engines of this type, it is not necessary to remove the oil damping sheet.
Removal of a reception pipe of the oil pump and an oil damping sheet is carried out according to illustr. point 1 here.
