The lubrication system consists of an oil pump, an oil pan, a pressure reducing valve, and oil pressure and temperature gauges. The system also has an oil changeover valve for short circuit operation.
The 2.0L engine and the DOHC engine have the same lubrication system design. This applies to engines up to the end of 1996, as well as from 1997. release. The latest model engine had a so-called load-bearing sump installed to accommodate the bearing bridge installed at the same time. The sump at the rear has been redesigned to allow the gearbox to mate with the sump. The bearing bridge is bolted to the underside of the cylinder block and the crankshaft main bearing caps and thus forms a rigid structure. The installed oil damping sheet is bolted to the underside of the bearing bridge. In this regard, the oil level indicator and the suction pipe of the oil pump were also changed. The parts installed on these engines are discussed in the description of the removal and installation of the oil pan.
Oil pressure and temperature
Oil pressure and temperature can be measured on all engines. However, this requires a special adapter and pressure gauge. As a result, it is recommended that this operation be carried out in a workshop.
