Check of end runout of a conducted disk | Checking the flatness of the pressure plate |
Check pressure plate and basket for damage or deformation. If there is damage, replace the indicated parts as a set.
Check up, a condition of springs and splines of a conducted disk. Oily linings of the driven disk are not cleaned. This disk is being replaced. Disc springs have different markings for different engines.
Clutch linings check for further use. To do this, use a caliper to measure the distance from the surface of the disc to the heads of the rivets. If the resulting distance is less than 0.3 mm, the disc is replaced. It is also recommended to replace the disk if the distance is close to the specified one.
To check the end runout of the driven disk, it is mounted on the mandrel or the input shaft of the gearbox and clamped in the centers of the lathe. Install an indicator next to the disc and press its measuring rod against the outer edge of the disc (illustrations). Rotate the disc slowly and read the indicator. If it is more than 0.4 mm, the disc can be carefully straightened with pliers. Otherwise, the disk is replaced.
Check the spline connection of the driven disk. To do this, put the disc on the input shaft of the gearbox, and grab the outer edge with two fingers. Rotate the disk to one side and the other. If the gap exceeds 0.4 mm, then this indicates wear on the spline connection. Wear usually occurs in the disc.
Check the inner ends of the diaphragm spring. If signs of heavy wear are visible, the clutch is replaced as a set.
The tops of the springs must be at the same height with a difference of no more than 0.5 mm. Bent ends can be straightened. There is a special tool for this. You can use a steel bar with a slot for this. If the tops of the springs have 0.3 mm wear, the clutch is also replaced.
Place a steel ruler on the friction surface of the pressure plate as shown in the illustration, and measure the gap with a feeler gauge. If the gap exceeds 0.3 mm, the clutch basket must be replaced.
