Air is removed from the system if it has been opened. Only fill the system with fresh and clean fluid. It is impossible to use the leaked liquid for this.
Brake fluid is poisonous and will damage paintwork. Therefore, the fluid must be handled with care.
If there is a damping cylinder in the system, air is released from it before air is released from the working cylinder.
1. Raise and place the front of the vehicle on stands.
2. Open the reservoir to check the fluid level. If necessary, add fluid up to the mark "Max".
3. Remove the protective cap from the bleed valve on top of the transmission.
4. Put a transparent hose on the fitting, lower its other end into a transparent vessel. Pour some liquid into the vessel. Check that the end of the hose is always below the liquid level in the vessel.
5. Press the clutch pedal evenly. At the end of the pedal stroke, press hard on it. Open the bleed valve. As soon as the clutch pedal is pressed to the floor, close the fitting.
6. Repeat the described process 10-15 times. In this case, it is necessary to monitor the level of liquid in the tank, adding liquid. As soon as the fluid flowing out of the hose is free of air bubbles (bubbles no longer rise in the vessel), the air is removed from the system. Tighten the fitting with a torque of 9 Nm.
7. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. Check clutch operation as described in Section Clutch test without removal.
Instruction. There are brake fluids from different manufacturers. However, it is necessary to adhere to the fluid recommended by Opel. This fluid mixes well with the fluid still in the system.
