Removal
1. Remove the wheels.
2. Disconnect the wires from the wheel speed sensors (on vehicles equipped with ABS) and brake pipes from the subframe.
3. Unscrew the bolts securing the subframe reinforcement bars (Fig. 7.1).

4. Unscrew the nuts securing the lower ball joint pins of the anti-roll bar struts (Fig. 7.2).

5. Remove the steering gear heat shield.
6. Unscrew the bolts securing the steering gear to the subframe and remove the engine torque rod (Fig. 7.3).

7. Loosen the steering shaft cardan joint fork B mounting bolt, the power steering hose flange mounting bolt (Install plugs to prevent loss of hydraulic fluid), remove the heat shield of the steering gear (Fig. 7.4).

8. Place a hydraulic jack under the subframe and secure it securely (Fig. 7.5).

9. Remove the two front subframe mounting bolts and the two rear subframe mounting bolts.
10. Turn the two subframe reinforcement rods outward. Lower the subframe by 20 centimeters and remove the steering gear.
Installation
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
