Check intervals: Even if the maintenance plan does not include an engine oil change within the first 15,000 km, it is recommended to check the engine oil level regularly, usually before long journeys, to prevent the risk of engine damage due to insufficient lubrication.
Engine oil level
Checked on a cold or cooled down after driving engine on a level surface.
The engine oil level can be checked on the instrument panel display or using the oil level gauge.
Oil level indicator on the instrument panel
When the ignition is turned on and for approximately 30 seconds:
- when the oil level is correct, a message appears «oil ok» on display 1:
Minimum oil level (blinking)
- at minimum oil level: word «OK» the display no longer shows dashes and the word «oil» blinking (message display 2), and the signal light on the instrument panel lights up.
Add oil as quickly as possible.
Checking the oil level with a dipstick
Remove the oil dipstick. Wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth. Reinsert it until it stops (for vehicles equipped with «oil level indicator with cover latch» C: Screw the lid back on tightly). Remove the oil dipstick. Determine the oil level: it should not be below the mark «min» A, not above the mark «max» IN.
Filling/topping up
The car must be on a level surface, the engine must be turned off and it must be cold (for example, before starting the engine for the first time in the morning).
F4R Engine
Unscrew the threaded plug of the filler neck 1. Hang the funnel 3 from its mount. Remove the upper and lower caps of the funnel. Install it in the filler neck.
Engine F9Q
Pour in the required amount of oil (for information: filling volume between marks «min» and «maxi» oil level indicator 2 depending on the engine is from 1.5 to 2 liters). Wait approximately 2 minutes for the oil to drain. Check the oil level again using the dipstick 2 (as described above). Do not exceed the mark «maxi».
Average filling volumes, including oil filter (for information)
- F4R Engine: 5.50 l.
- Engine F9Q: 4.60 l.
