Instruction. Vehicles with powerful engines have ventilated brake discs at the front, while other vehicles use solid brake discs.
Mark the position of the rear wheels relative to the hub so that the balanced wheels take their original position during installation. For marking, it is enough to make a stroke with chalk or paint on the disc and hub.
Loosen wheel bolts. Raise the car and remove the wheels.
Measure the brake disc thickness. In workshops, a special caliper is used for this, since a protrusion forms on the edges of the disc when worn. You can also use a regular caliper by laying two hard spacers, and then subtract the thickness of these spacers from the measurement result.
Attention! Measurements are taken at several points on the disk.
For brake disc dimensions, see chapter below "Specifications of the brake system".
When the wear limit is reached, replace the brake disc.
If significant scratches or grooves deeper than 0.5 mm are found, the brake disc must also be replaced.
Fit the wheels, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 110 Nm.
