Removing
Knock out the retaining pins with a punch from the inside out. Make sure that the retaining springs do not pop out.
Remove the pad retaining springs.
Remove the brake pads and linings with pliers, a screwdriver or an impact puller. If the pads are welded, you will need a special puller (e.g. Hazet).
Press the piston into the body with a special tool.
Installation
Before installing the brake pads, clean the guide surfaces with a soft metal wire brush, and then lubricate with a thin layer of special paste (e.g. Opel 1942585, Plastilube or Liqui Moly LM-36 or LM-508-ASC). Dust deposits from brake pad wear and corrosion of the guide surfaces can cause uneven brake pad wear.
Insert both brake pads with linings into the brake caliper.
Check the ease of movement of the pads in the guides.
Insert springs and drive pins from outside to inside. Check that the retaining springs are securely installed.
