Removal and installation of the power steering pump

1.8 and 2.0 liter engines

Removing

Remove V-belt.



Disconnect the supply and drain hoses, after loosening the clamps.

Attention! Substitute the container, because. while oil flows out. Seal the hose openings with suitable clean plugs.

Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the pump.

Installation

Install the pump and tighten its fastening bolts to 25 Nm.

Connect hoses and secure with clamps.

Check, install and tighten the V-belt.

Remove air from the system.

1.6L engines

Removing

Remove air filter.

Remove poly V-belt.



Remove the pump pulley.


Unfasten and remove the upper toothed belt cover.



Loosen the bolts securing the pump to the cylinder head and pull the pump out towards the generator.

Disconnect the supply and drain hoses.

Attention! Substitute the container, as oil flows out. Seal the hose openings with suitable clean plugs.

Installation

Screw in, without tightening, the pump mounting bolts on the cylinder head.

Install the upper toothed belt cover.

Tighten pump mounting bolts to 25 Nm.

Install and tighten the V-ribbed belt.

Connect hoses to pump.



Install the air filter.

Remove air from the hydraulic system.
