Disconnect wires from glow plugs. Connect one lead of the voltmeter to the positive lead of the battery, and apply the other lead to each spark plug in turn.
If the LED lights up, then the candle is working, and if not, then it is faulty and must be replaced. The tightening torque of the candles is 20 Nm.
Attention! Do not exceed the specified torque, otherwise the gap between the filament and the thread will disappear, and the candle will fail prematurely.
Connect wires to glow plugs.
Checking the Glow Plug Relay
Remove glow plug relay (relay N8). It is located in the relay box in the engine compartment.
Attach a probe to terminal 30. Switch on the ignition. The device's LED should light up, otherwise check the battery voltage.
Attach test probe to terminal 86. Switch on ignition. The LED of the device should light up, otherwise check the voltage at the ignition switch.
If the tester LED flashes, check for an open glow plug wire, replace the glow plugs or the relay if necessary.
Burnt-out glow plugs
Tips in glow plugs burn out most often due to a malfunction of the nozzles.
If candles with burnt tips are found, they must be replaced, and the nozzles should also be checked for spray quality, injection pressure and tightness (In workshop).
